The British Aikido Board - Exposed - Blog

This website is dedicated to preserving and protecting the valuable lineage and legacy of British Aikido history from its introduction to the UK in 1955.

There are only two surviving original pioneers alive and still involved in documenting those amazing early days. It has been a worthwhile struggle against organisations and people who have tried to corrupt that history. Those early days when a person would never ever consider elevating their grade to even 5th Kyu (yellow belt) We live in shameless times when people grade themselves higher than Abbe Sensei - Masahilo Nakazono - Kazuo Chiba and other deceased Budo masters. many with the approval and acceptance of the British Aikido Board.

The highly respected late Jack Poole, 3rd dan Kodokan Judoka - Shanghai Police ( died 1982 - R.I.P ) is in no way associated with the Jack Poole of Aikido infamy exposed on this website.

It may be no surprise, or coincidence that `Aikido Jack's` false claims in the year 2000 to be a 3rd dan in Judo in the 1950s, may well have come from using the rank of his respected namesake ?, this has been suggested to me several times by senior Judoka.

After all, `Aikido Jack` has used and abused many deceased Budo masters in his bizarre claims and biography.

One may well ask why the - BAB – Mr Poole - controversy continues to this day ? The simple answer is the original problems that created the controversy are unchanged. – Mr Poole and the BAB have never apologised for the lies – deceit - along with the crass conduct they have displayed over the years. – To this day Mr Poole is recognised by the governing body of UK Aikido as a pioneer of British Aikido – Despite the undisputed facts Mr Poole was proudly presented with an award by the shameless BAB.

Betrayed in Budo

Bad Budo - There was one incident during the Jack Poole / BAB controversy that I personally found upsetting. A senior student of Mr Poole's contacted me, he asked to meet me. I invited him to my home to view the files / photos /videos/ letters / correspondence/emails regarding Mr Poole's charade and fraudulent claims. I handed him everything I had, I also offered him the use of my copier to copy anything he needed to take away. He said "I can now see that you are telling the truth, over the years I have sat and listened in awe to many Budo stories from Mr Poole. Now,I am not sure if I can ever practice Aikido again ". ~ A student betrayed by his teacher.
